We are working with over 419 farmer groups with 10,700 farmers
TOTCO is working with over 419 farmer groups with 10,700 farmers distributed in Northern Uganda and out of these, more than 70 groups are in Agoro sub-county, Lamwo district.We have a very strong operational structure that has enabled us to build a well coordinated network on the ground. This network has helped TOTCO in managing grain production and procurement from its farmer groups.
The network has community agents selected from among farmer groups and they are based in rural areas.The community agents play a big role in ensuring agro-inputs are accessed by farmers and they procure grains from farmers ON CASH BASIS before transporting to TOTCO stores. We use contract farming model in engaging with farmers.
